Overview
The Department of Structural Mechanics is one of the youngest in the University, established on July 31, 2008 on the basis of the Department of Materials Science with the purpose of providing training of specialists of educational-qualification level "Bachelor" in the direction 6.060101 "Construction", and since 2016 in the specialty 192 Construction and Civil Engineering.
Our department is constantly improving our academic programs, engaging in research, and remaining active as in the community of Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University. The graduate programs are committed to providing a curriculum that satisfies the technical demands of a modern engineer, augmented by well-defined courses to help our students develop as well-rounded professionals. The Construction and civil engineering programs are designed to develop engineers with a strong background in science, and an understanding of the nature of their special role in society. Our graduate programs integrate basic theory with a real-world perspective.
In addition to your classroom studies, labs provide opportunities for hands-on experience. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities and gain valuable work experience while building connections with industry and professional organizations.

The mission of the Department of Structural Mechanics is to educate the next generation of engineers and surveyors to develop leaders that will advance the state of the profession. We strive for constructive student-faculty interactions through an progressive educational setting. Through certified engineering courses, experiential learning opportunities, specialty classes hosted by local experts, and community outreach in the Ternopil area, our students and faculty gain and apply skills that benefit their personal growth.
